Project Activities

The main directions of our current work are as follows:

to extend the Rus4IR lexicon in order to provide more adequate coverage of Russian texts;
to refine core grammar rules to make the parser's output more precise;
to add rules connected with compound and complex sentences;
to provide rules for description of the theme-focus sentence structure.

At the Department of Applied Linguistics the project RussNet - a computer thesaurus for the Russian language of the WordNet type - is under development. It is planned to connect the RussNet structure with the AGFL description of Russian in future NLP resources.
