Direct and Indirect Diathesis of a Mental Verb: Corpus-Based Approach
Recent research in the sphere of lexicogrammatical description of language has drawn attention to the notion of DIATHESIS. The paper is devoted to an insufficiently studied phenomenon, namely, to PARAMETRICAL, or INDIRECT, diathesis available for some (but not all) mental verbs. Russian National Corpus supplies linguistic data that call in question some fundamental theoretical claims in this area.Back
